The first round of the CIK Stars of Karting Series was hosted by the Newcastle Kart Club last weekend. The event attracted competitors from across Australia who put on some first class racing over the weekend.
Pierce Lehane again shone in his CRG chassis and was untouchable all weekend. He literally drove away from the opposition.
The other star of the meet was Kel Tresseder who raced his CRG Road Rebel chassis. In his first outing in the new chassis he was most unfortunate to miss out on a win in the KZ2 class by only 3/100ths of a second. The saving grace was that he was at least beaten by our favorite man, Matt Wall, who apparently went to sleep in the last couple of hundred metres from the finish line.
